Overview
The Robofusion VT5805 is a high-power 5.8GHz analog video transmitter (VTX) module with selectable output up to 4W (4000mW) — built for genuine long-range FPV. It transmits a standard CVBS analog video signal on any of 48 channels across 6 bands (including Raceband), supports remote configuration over TBS SmartAudio, and pairs a machined aluminum heatsink case with a built-in cooling fan to sustain full power. A wide 7–36V input (2S–8S) and a regulated 5V camera output make it a complete, drop-in video link for long-range fixed-wing aircraft, mapping platforms, and industrial drones.
Features
- 4 power levels — 25 / 1000 / 2000 / 4000mW: bench-safe 25mW for setup, 4W for maximum range
- 48 channels, 6 bands (A / B / E / FS-IRC / RACE / LOW) — compatible with every standard analog 5.8GHz receiver and goggles
- TBS SmartAudio — change band, channel, and power from your flight controller OSD or radio (Betaflight, iNav, ArduPilot)
- Active cooling — aluminum heatsink plus built-in fan sustains 4W output
- Wide 7–36V input — runs directly from 2S–8S; regulated 5V output powers your camera
- One-button configuration — set everything in the field with LED band/channel readout, no computer needed
- Standard 30.5×30.5mm mounting, MMCX antenna connector, only 16.9g

Getting Started
Wiring takes minutes with the single 6-pin connector: battery or PDB to VIN/GND, camera video to VIDEO, camera power from the regulated 5V VOUT, and (optionally) a flight-controller UART TX to RX_OSD for SmartAudio control. Full pinout and diagram: VT5805 Wiring Guide.
⚠ Never power on without an antenna attached — at 4W, reflected RF energy can permanently damage the output stage within seconds.
Configuration
Set channel, band, and power with the onboard button and LED indicators — see the button configuration guide and 48-channel frequency table. Or wire SmartAudio and control it from Betaflight, iNav, or ArduPilot: SmartAudio setup.
Documentation & Guides
- VT5805 User Manual — full specifications, wiring, frequency table, LED reference, FAQ
- Transmit power & licensing — operation above 25mW generally requires an amateur (HAM) radio license in the US/Canada
- ArduPilot Telemetry Setup — pair your video link with a Robofusion telemetry radio
Package List
- 1 × VT5805 video transmitter module
- 1 × 6-pin ribbon cable
- 1 × MMCX-to-RPSMA extension feeder cable
Note: antenna not included. At 4W, antenna quality matters — pair the VT5805 with a well-matched 5.8GHz antenna rated for high power.
