Overview

The Robofusion A5800 is a 5.8GHz omnidirectional dipole antenna purpose-matched to the VT5804 and VT5805 analog video transmitters. Built with LDS (Laser Direct Structuring) — the antenna element is laser-drawn onto a molded carrier, so every unit is tuned identically — and protected by a semi-transparent radome. Lab-verified performance: up to 3.56dBi gain, radiation efficiency of 60–84% across the band, and VSWR of 1.25–1.87 — a clean, well-matched load that protects your high-power VTX output stage.

Features

  • True lab data, not marketing numbers — anechoic-chamber measured: 3.56dBi peak gain, >60% efficiency at every point from 5350–5900MHz, VSWR under 2.0 across the design band
  • Omnidirectional dipole pattern — even signal in all horizontal directions; ideal aircraft-side antenna that keeps video steady through turns
  • LDS construction — laser-formed radiator for unit-to-unit consistency; no hand-tuned wire whips
  • Semi-transparent protective radome — impact and weather protection, −30°C to +85°C
  • Flexible RG141 lead with SMA connector — 178mm overall length routes cleanly on fixed-wing and multirotor airframes

Specifications

Design frequency range 5350–5850MHz
Peak gain 3.0dBi nominal (3.56dBi measured)
Radiation efficiency >60% across the band (max 83.6%)
VSWR <2.0 (measured 1.25–1.87)
Impedance 50Ω
Connector SMA (male pin)
Overall length 178 ± 1mm
Radome diameter Ø18.27mm, semi-transparent housing

Compatibility

Connects to the VT5804 (2.5W) and VT5805 (4W) video transmitter modules via the MMCX extension feeder included with each module. The 5350–5850MHz design band covers the LOW band, Raceband, FS/IRC, and A/B bands — everything North American pilots normally fly.
